Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas Everyone!
Yesterday we went to Botanica to look at the Christmas lights. Despite the bitter cold we had a fun time. Heather and I got to sit on Santa's lap and tell him what we wanted for Christmas!

We woke up on saturday morning to snow! Not fun! Luckily it was gone by noon!

Another Zoo trip!

We enjoy going to the zoo. A couple of weeks ago we went with Grace and Merav, despite the really cold day, we had a really great day. Feeding the giraffe was a lot of fun, none of us had ever done that before!

Fall

A few weeks ago we went to Botanica. We just wanted to get out of the house, get some fresh air and do something different. It was a great opportunity to take some fall photos. This is one of my favourites.

Bad Blogger!

I have been a bad blogger. I just have not had time to blog, with Mark being away I had visions of lots of time to scrap and blog, but that has just not happened. My California album is nearly finished! Just one more page to do and it is done and ready to take with me to Florida so Laura can see it in real life!

Here are pictures of Heather and Grace from Halloween, they had a good time, but it was cold out.

Heather

Heather had to have an eye exam and has to wear glasses. As you can imagine for a 13 year old this was a traumatic event! But she picked out some great glasses and looks really cute! Should make a great scrapbook page!

Pump It Up!

Last weekend Heather went to a friends birthday party at Pump It Up. It was a large room full of inflatables. There was the slide, an obstacle course and a boxing ring with big boxing gloves. Heather had a fun time with her friend Emily.

Thirteen!

Giraffes

I love giraffes. Several years ago on a trip to the zoo with Dad and Linda, we were all given nicknames with animals names, Heather Hippo, Linda Elephant and I was Mummy Giraffe! The nicknames have stuck, so every time we go to the zoo it reminds us of our visit with Dad and Linda and we always go to visit the giraffes!

POV at the Zoo

These are a couple of photos I took on our trip to the zoo last weekend. For the photo challenge at scrapbook.com we had to have point of view photos. The turle had large boulders around it to stop him from running away (lol) so I stood up on one of them to get a good shot of him eating.
The penguins are new to the zoo and this was our first time to see them.

7th Grade!

I can't believe that Heather is in 7th Grade already! This year is going to be a busy one. She is taking pre-algebra and 8th grade advanced science!! She is so smart and we are so proud of her. In 3 weeks she will be a teenager! Where did the time go? Where did my baby go!

Blue Lure

I down loaded Picasa2 this morning and was playing around with it. I really wanted to change the background to b&w and have the blue lure stand out. I was not able to get just the lure as there is still a bit of green around it. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Reflections

This photo was taken back in June when we all went out on the boat. I took another reflection photo that I changed to black and white and posted here earlier.

Negative Space

This photo is of a Blue Angel that flew over my house during the air show. I wish I had been able to get a closer picture, but was not able to get to the Air Show on base!

Fill the Frame

This is a photo I took for the fill the frame challenge. I took this at my friends house. If anyone can tell me what the flower is that would be great. My friend could not remember, she said it begins with an H!

Harry Potter

Heather entered a contest at the local library to draw the cover of Harry Potter book 7. She came in 2nd place in her age group and won the Book 7.

Childhood

Last week we went to our friends to share in a couple of birthdays. One of them was for Ella, she is the dd of our friends best friend. They came all the way from Alaska and Ella was excited to share her birthday with everyone.

Ambars Birthday

Today is my beautiful niece Ambar's 8th Birthday. My sister sent me this photo of her birthday party at a pottery shop. Looks like she had a fun time! I wish I had been there to share it with her.

Depth of Field

I am not sure if these photos are exactly what the challenge was looking for. I am still learning a lot about photography and what my camera can do.

As we were going around the lake today, I saw this building and the old tree in front of it and thought it would be a great photo. When I came home I changed it to black and white and liked it even more. At scrapbook.com I am in a photo group with weekly challenges, I hope this photo is OK for challenge #2.

Summer

Summer has begun! Although it was a little overcast and rainy today we had a good time out on the lake. I have not been out on the boat the 3 years Mark has had it so it was nice to go out today and watch Mark and Heather fishing. Mark caught 4 keepers, and Heather got several bites. Hopefully we can go out again and Heather can catch some fish!

Happy Memorial Weekend

We are spending this Memorial Weekend at home. Sometimes it is just nice to spend time at home. I am busy working on our California Album.

Remember our Troops this weekend. They need our support now more than ever.

Vacation Scrapbook

I have not finished scrapping our photos from our California Vacation yet, so for now you can see what I have done in this slide show. I have to get the album finished to take it to Florida for our Christmas Vacation at Disney World.
