Blue Lure

I down loaded Picasa2 this morning and was playing around with it. I really wanted to change the background to b&w and have the blue lure stand out. I was not able to get just the lure as there is still a bit of green around it. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

I think you're off to a great start with it! Maybe just zoom in lots (and lots), so that you can get the details. Cool photo!

Beautiful in B & W. Have no idea how to help on the lure.

I am in the no clue group but it is a good question. Will keep my eye on this to see if you get a good answer.

I work with Picasa all the time and they don't have a "stretch or skew" feature which would work in this situation. They only have the option of circular increase/decrease. You might try using the "filter" to omit some of the green, yet keeping the blue of the lure. That feature is so fun with just the right pictures. Good luck. I actually like the B&W by itself.

I don't know Picasa at all. When I'm doing stuff like this in Photoshop I usually duplicate the image so there are 2 layers of it & convert the bottom layer to B & W/greyscale. I then use the Mask feature or the eraser (depending on how lazy I'm feeling) and start off with a larger pixel size. You've already got that covered so IF Picasa lets you, you do need to zoom in close, 200% or more, and work with a very small pixel-size, probably 10 pixels or less. If not, you could download a Photoshop trial or look into PaintShopPro because both have the features you would need to really pull it off. I'm Sosumi_san on SB.com so you could PM me there if you want more info or have questions. Good luck!
